About me:
I was missing Red Lodge and thought I'd google and see what's up. Lo and behold, THERE'S A FREAKING SOCIAL PAGE!!! Am I happy? You bet your boots I am!
What I'm listening to
The Shins, Ambulance, Fruit Bats and loving the fact that these newer (ish) bands give me wonderful blugrass-y type goosebumps.

I've been listening to a lot of Ween, AIR, Beck, ELO, Catfish Haven <-not hokey, look em' up - Arthur & Yu has this song that is so dreamy, i'll share: http://www.imeem.com/jackabasselope/music/8bngjIUN/arthur_yu_lions_mouth/
What I'm reading
Just finished Lighthousekeeping by Jeanette Winterson. Very different from the usual but I highly recommend. Re-re-rereading Master and Margarita (the Burgin/O'conner translation) by Mikhail Bulgkov.
How long I've lived in Red Lodge
<1 year
What I like best about Red Lodge
Lived in RL from 1993-1997.

Stacey, I noticed you were getting ready to talk books with Kari. Unfortunately she left this morning for 10 days vacation, so save those thoughts!

I don't know what your particular interest in the book is, but if you're in for a fascinating look into Russia at the time, Adam Hochschild's "The Unquiet Ghost" is a harrowing and yet somehow life-affirming book about life under Stalinism. Hochschild is a tremendous "literary journalist", if such a term exists.

All this makes me want to reread Bulgakov.

Thanks!

Wow! Stacy, I've never met anyone who's read Master & Margarita without my begging them to do so. I saw it performed in a small theater in Moscow & it was one of the most astounding things I've ever seen! What a fabulous, insane, wonderful book. I would say Enjoy it, but I know you will.
Happy to meet you,
~Kari

Hello Stacey, Welcome aboard. I see you live in Seattle what a coincidence; we belong to the Rain City Hearse Society, which is out of Seattle. Check out XXX Rootbeer in Issaquah on the second Sunday of the month at 12:00pm.
Regards,
Morty Slaughter
